MERRICK, Ian Victor 1959 - 2010
Ian Victor Merrick passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 5, 2010 at the age of 51 years. Ian will be sadly missed by his loving wife Bernice of twenty-three years, mother Connie (Wayne Benson), sister Lonna (Bobby) Crosta, brother Colin (Toni) and nephew Cody Rothe. Ian will be missed by his special friends Stewart, Nemo, Foxy and Koolie. Ian retired as the head ice maker of the North Hill Curling Club in 2003. He was involved with numerous national and international curling events. His interests were curling, hunting, golfing and drawing. A special thank you to Glenda, Bill, Ruby and Logan as well as the entire Campbell families for their love and support. Also, thank you to the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, the Foothills Hospital and the Calgary Palliative Home Care Team. A Celebration of Ian's Life will be held at Heritage Park on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made directly to the North Hill Curling Club; The Calgary Curling Club Junior Curling Programs, The Behaviour Therapy and Learning Centre for Autism ( www.btlc.ca ) or to the charity of their choice.
